Award for Commemoration of Library Sit-In (The Programming Librarian)

Alexandria Library of Virginia recently received the John Cotton Dana Award for their program, “We Are the Alexandria Library Sit-in.” Get the full story from Hannah Arata, ALA Public Programs Office on The Programming Librarian.

Includes an interview with Library Director Rose Dawson. Arata notes that Dawson “views libraries as essential spaces for bringing awareness to past historical events, especially histories that are problematic.”
